The cuddly sea otter, the largest otter, can live in the sea without ever going to land, and insulates its body with the densest coat in the animal kingdom, a million hairs per square inch! The sea otter lives on the coasts of the North Pacific in both Asia and North America and has three subspecies: common, northern and southern sea otter, the southern sea otter lives in California and is the most endangered population. Featured in both Zoo Tycoon and Zoo Tycoon 2, its unique range and biology make it a very standout animal.
